Hello, Readers! Today, I found an article titled "SEO, Search Engine Optimization", which focuses on “How to make high-quality SEO work for you". It was written by Matthew Capala, who is an internet marketer, growth consultant, entrepreneur, international speaker, trainer and author. I am taking Marketing Management class this semester. We discuss many social media as effective business tools, so I think the article is a good match with our class topics. According to the article, company needs to “show up” when consumers search for your product or service on Google, when you are spoken about on social media, or when people receive a review or a comment. Why? • 80 percent of consumers search for a product/service before purchasing it. • 70 percent read online reviews before making final purchasing decisions. • 68 percent of consumers begin their decision-making process by searching for a keyword. • Websites that blog regularly receive 55 percent more traffic and more than 80 percent more leads compared to websites that don't blog. Unfortunately, many companies still miss out on the huge opportunities search engines, blogs, and social media provide because they fail to show up when consumers search for them. If customers cannot find your companies, you do not exist. Also, if you do not comment or respond to their comments, you are not relevant. However, if marketers and bloggers use the SEO approach, the result will be more profits than using the crude, risky optimization tactics of the past! There are good and bad points about using SEO. The good: The key to SEO success is to focus on quality optimization, quality content and quality relationships. You can read those explanation details in here. http://www.chicagotribune.com/bluesky/hub/chi-yec-high-quality-seo-bsi-hub-story.html#page=1 The bad: There are three harmful practices. 1. To put Buying links 2. Acquiring poor quality links 3. Article spinning to SEO 4. You can read those explanation details in here too http://www.chicagotribune.com/bluesky/hub/chi-yec-high-quality-seo-bsi-hub-story.html#page=1 Thus, people need to use SEO appropriately. Also, I think it is important for contents to have the power to give readers some significant change in their knowledge, value, and emotions, because information helps people catch up and stay current. Therefore, contents are desired when they have useful value, and they can influence or change the readers’ knowledge, value or emotions. Thanks for reading! Yuko |
